Points Awarded
Prints and slides are judged by three club members. At the present time, up
to 9 points per judge may be awarded. The maximum total points are 27.
Impact, composition, and
technical quality are
considered. Each of these represents 3 of the 9 points awarded by each
judge. Awards given are based on the number of points received from the judges.
1st, 2nd, & 3rd place awards are always given. 25% of all entries in
the division must receive awards therefore Honorable Mentions are given to the
remaining eligible entries.
Ribbons are given to beginner division winners only. Other divisions receive
ribbons only at special competitions.
Note: If your camera has the capability of imprinting the date or other
data on the film while making the exposure, turn this feature off while making
exposures for club purposes. It is inappropriate for club work and the judges
will downgrade the scores significantly.
