2x2 Slide competition:
Two slides may be entered in each competition (2 General, 2
Nature, and 2 Assignment). Please refer to the club calendar as to which
night each competition will be held.
Slides must be 35mm or other format in cardboard, plastic, or glass mounts of 2
x 2 inches.
Slides must be marked with title, maker's name, and a large dot on
the lower left corner of the slide (as held up to a light for viewing).
To be considerate to the people who are organizing the competition, it is suggested that your slides
be turned in by 7:30 PM.
There are currently several levels of competition
based on experience : Beginner, Advanced, Salon, Star, & Galaxy. These
groups may be split or combined during the year if deemed necessary to keep the
groups balanced in size.
Slides are returned at the next competition unless held
for inter-club competitions.

These are guidelines to provide consistency where possible.
Slides labeled differently, except for the red dot, are acceptable.
It is suggested that the title appear on the top of the slide
and your name on the bottom. You should also use a copy write symbol.
Motor City or MCCC can appear on either the left or right side
of the slide side.
Your information can either be hand written or you may use stick
on labels. If you choose to use labels, Avery Return Address labels
work fine, but they may have to require trimming.
General versus Nature Rule:
Nature slides meeting PSA requirements (see definition below) in which a
single animal, bird, or insect occupies more than half of the height or width of
the slide are not allowed in general competitions (wildflowers and plant life
permitted). Slides featuring nature subjects which do NOT meet PSA requirements
MAY be entered in general competitions.
Any slide featuring a nature subject, whether or not it meets PSA
requirements, may be entered in assignment competitions if it meets the
requirements of the assignment.
