Starting Monday September 10, Motor City Camera Club will START at 7:30PM. ALL IMAGES must be submitted by 7:15PM.

We are aware that this new starting time will create some difficulties for a few of our members. It is our hope that if you are one of those members that can not be to the meetings by 7:15, you are able to find an alternate way of getting your images submitted

Help promote MCCC

If you plan to go to your local camera store before the holidays, print a few MCCC flyers and give them to the store manager. Most stores will put them on their counter. Print flyer in B&W. Make a two sided copy from the two pages. This is a tri-fold flyer so you fold the page into 1/3 the size. "Film or Digital" should be on the outside and the map should be on the back. When opened, "Meeting Overview" should be on the inside.

The member listing has been updated as of 03/28/08 Thanks Howard!

Improve your photos and learn to critique

Follow the link to Radiant Vista then click on the Daily Critique.  Recently this is also available as a iTunes down-load.

Each day a 3-5 minute video us available for download. This video will feature a submitted image for critique onscreen with a soundtrack, which contains the same kind of spoken critique you would receive on a workshop - along with a pointer onscreen that will be used just like a laser pointer would be used in a live critique.

Many other useful resources are also available on the site.

The Daily Critique videos vary in size between 3MB and 5MB. A high speed connection is recommended, but not essential.

Featured Professional Photographer:

Art Wolfe  Hailed by William Conway, President of the Wildlife Conservation Society, as "the most prolific and sensitive recorder of a rapidly vanishing natural world," Wolfe has taken an estimated one million images in his lifetime and has released over forty-five books.

Edge of the Earth / Corner of the Sky [View Gallery] This artful collection of atmospheric landscapes captured on seven continents is Art Wolfe’s most personal statement to date. Covering desert, ocean, forest, polar and mountain regions, this entertaining presentation is informative and visually thrilling as Art Wolfe shares his personal experiences and adventures in filming for the much-anticipated new book, The Edge of the Earth / Corner of the Sky. The multimedia presentation includes slides, anecdotal narration and depending upon venue, video footage filmed on location. Presentation Length: Program length is flexible. 45, 60, or 90 minute lectures available.
